About

“My aim as an artist is to measure a symbolic life running parallel to my own.”

Through the use of photography, paint, the scribbling of charcoal, automatic drawing and writing I am attempting to grab a hold of imagery from the unconscious. It is an intimate investigation and real-time observation of my own experience with psychological projection. My paintings are merely symptom of objectifying a nebulous internal state of being.

Like a prayer, or meditation, this process is a ritual so as to become more conscious of myself. Each individual work functions as a door one can consistently return to for insight and self-analysis. One could liken it to a file folder on a desktop computer. My aim is to capture how I feel in relation to the world and people, not the world itself.

I pull from archetypal motifs, dreams, divination, my catholic faith, and my own experiences in Jungian analysis and personal relationships in order to illustrate this internal dynamic. It is a syncretic fusion of Art, Religion, and Psychology.
